New on the stormhand website: The Swedish label Denim Demon is about passion; passion about culture and heritage. They believe that “in order to do something genuine and sincere, it has to come from your heart; and since our own hearts originate from the Sami culture in Sweden“, it is the Sami culture and heritage which always is their main source of inspiration- something that is undoubtedly evident in the aesthetics and quality throughout the Denim Demon ranges. New on stormhand.com: Pica is a magazine like no other and means teaming up, experimenting, sharing knowledge and building consensus. The sympathic initiative of students of the Quebec University of Montreal, Canada received international recognition through their published issues which are all reward with a Grafika Grand Prize. The Dutch Design Awards offers a yearly platform where the best of Dutch Design is shown and appreciated. The event consists of the competition, the award show, the exhibition and the Dutch Design Yearbook. A new initiative on the DDA blog are short interviews with designers who won the DDA award in the past. Last week the denim industry made their bi-annual pilgrimage to Berlin. Heading for Bread & Butter, Seek and other premium fairs. This weekend Modefabriek, Amsterdam was the tradeshow not to be missed. Among the international contributors was Stockholm based Denim Demon. Who have close ties to the indigenous Sami people of northern Sweden and share a great passion for authentic denim heritage. For the last half year Boy Bastiaens has worked on the label’s new brand identity which will be published on stormhand.com this spring.
